Dear Pre-Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to All Saints four day
Pre-Kindergarten class. My name is Kim Mathis, Miss Kim to the children
and Cooper Reep’s mom. I have been an All Saints parent for five
years. My son Cooper has been at All Saints since the young ones and
graduated from All Saints Pre-K this past May. Prior to having Cooper I
was a teacher for 13 years. I have a Bachelor’s degree from UCF in
Elementary Education. I have taught Elementary school, Pre-school and
Art. Ms. Jessica Duff, Miss Jessica, will be working in our classroom
this year also. She is an All Saints parent, Kendall, and has been at
All Saints for two years.
I am very excited to be staying an at
All Saints and moving from a parent role to a teaching position. I am
also excited to get to work with you and your child this year! Children
are a wonderful gift from God and it is a privilege to be a teacher
nurturing young children.
Children learn best when they feel
secure, loved and confident in the environment of their classroom. The
focus of my teaching will be to help your child grow age appropriately
in all levels of their development- socially, emotionally, spiritually
and academically. Our classroom will be interactive and integrated.
Our daily routine will include hands-on learning centers and activities
in a print and language rich environment.
The classroom activities will provide
ample opportunities for children to be actively engaged in working with
others in a variety of different ways. The children will have various
centers in class that they will work with daily. The centers include,
literacy, math, dramatic play, writing, art, small and gross motor
manipulatives, reading, listening and blocks. The weeks will be theme
based and correlate with the seasons of the year or activities going on
within the school and church. We will have a letter, Bible verse and
number, of the week and a shape and color for the month, that are
integrated through the centers and lessons.
